One Bad Apple

A nightmare I woke and typed out at 1 AM

I highly recommend

not reading the news

about US deportations

of hard gangsters

to El Salvador’s biggest prison

after reading scripture

and staying up “way” past bedtime

looking at photos

of this prison

😳!!!!

I had a dream

last night

that I traveled to El Salvador

and brought a red apple

with me

in my bag

from the US.

I walked into El Salvador

through a turnstile

(don’t ask)

and ran through a dirt field

about 50 meters

towards a trash can

to check and see

if apples had been discarded

which meant

they weren’t permitted

to cross the border.

Which meant

they were illegal.

(This happened to me at JFK.)

Upon second thought

running halfway to the bin

in the middle of the dirt field

I turned around

and ran back for the turnstile

with my apple

and made it back to the US

before I was caught

and sent to prison

in El Salvador

for entering

with an illegal apple.

That’s one bad apple

and one lame

or exciting

and confusing

nightmare.

I’ll tell you one thing

that prison

will make anyone

a rule follower.

Don’t even tempt

this world

with an illegal apple!
